Greetings All

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has had a good holiday. I love this time of the year. You get to spend quality time with your family and make memories that will last a lifetime. Too bad it only happens once a year, but I guess that makes this time of the year even more special.

Now it is time to get to main point of the blog. In 12 days (almost 11!) I leave for Santiago de Compostela, Spain. I will spend my spring semester there studying at the local university, hosted by a family, and experiencing a whole new culture. I plan to use this blog as a way of reflecting on my experiences and a way for all of you who read this to stay updated.

A number of people tell me that studying abroad is one the most incredible experience one can have in their lifetime. I plan to make the most of the experience. I hope to greatly improve my Spanish comprehension and speaking abilities. I also hope to grow as a person. This experience will most definitely take me out of my comfort zone (I thought leaving home for college was tough), and that is what I want. I want to become a more confident person and prove that I can do things on my own. I will discover so many new things in Spain, but I cannot wait for the things I will discover within myself.

So, if you are reading this blog I hope you are ready to join me on my journey. It'll be four months of new experiences and new discoveries. I promise it will be interesting and exciting!

All the best,
Josh
